SnapSports Provides Athletic Surfaces for US Team HandballChampionship



The 2009 Club National Championship was held in Elgin, Illinois over the weekend and came at the heels of Chicago'ss bid for the 2016 Summer Olympics. It was the first USA Team Handball (http://www.usateamhandball.org) competition to take place on SnapSports's174; athletic surfaces - the new National Court of USA Team Handball.





Team Handball has a large international base and has been played in the Olympics since 1972. It is an aggressive, fast-paced game, similar in ways to both soccer and ice hockey. The game is generally played indoors, requiring a safe, high-performance, surface. The Club National Championship was an opportunity for SnapSports to show off the safety and performance features of their BounceBack ShockTower flooring to the sport'ss elite.



SnapSports and USA Team Handball have forged a stronger relationship since SnapSports became the official flooring provider for the sport. We have been working closely with the organization and the athletes to give them the best playing surfaces available in the world today. The tournament hosted over 400 players in more than 60 matches. Twenty-seven teams from all over the United States battled for the National Championship title. Competitors ranged from newcomers to lifelong enthusiasts - from US Olympians to professional athletes to students. The men'ss championship was won by NYC THC, while the Chicago Inter took the women'ss title.
