Danville, CA July 25, 2006 -- The Muse Also Weeps, Tom Dodd'ss fictional mystery and romance story, has been garnering excellent reviews from readers.
Inspired by the egregious crimes perpetrated by the Nazis against the Jews and others, prior to and during World War II, the story was created, in part, to illustrate the scope of the
unprecedented conspiracy and scale of the looting and disappearance of great art masterpieces, religious iconography, tapestries and other valuables; not the least of which was the
organized Nazi attempt at the wholesale eradication of Jewish culture.
The novel, originally released in early June, 2006, involves a Swiss police detective, his administrative assistant and a French art historian who uncover and follow a trail of clues,
beginning with the assassination of an old, ex-Nazi SS officer who retains a powerful secret. To solve the murder the trio slowly begin to realize the enormity of the secret and the
focused conspiracy to keep it hidden. They are led into a thrilling, dangerous adventure involving a fabulous treasure hunt.
Running parallel to the murder investigation, a deeply loving relationship emerges between the dectective and his beautiful, independent-minded assistant, and leaves the reader
considering which is the more desirable treasure: Love or material wealth.
The book has turned out to be a compelling story with broad-based appeal. The story is written in an enticing style that compels the reader to stay engaged. The epilogue ends with a
surprise that leaves the reader pondering the possibilities, yet satisfied by the outcome. The work is a tour-de-force for a great mystery writer, and clearly establishes Tom F Dodd as a
master storyteller.
Appraisals from men and women, mystery lovers and romance-philes, have been very positive in their critical acclaim for the story. The reviews are available on the Lulu website, and
testify to the broad based appeal of Tom Dodd'ss work. His characters are credible, well-described and vibrant. The scenery and the venues are vividly expressed and jump off of the page
easily into the mind'ss eye of the reader.
In late August, of this year, Mr. Dodd anticipates releasing the novel for international distribution and to major booksellers.
Currently, the novel is available only at Lulu.com (http://www.lulu.com/content/305636), where the reader'ss opinions about the novel can
also be viewed, and where all comments by readers are encouraged.
The cover artwork was developed exclusively for the book by Mr. Brian Luk, a master story teller in his own genre.
