Too Busy to Relax Women Create the Spa Experience at Home

Juggling work and a busy home life leaves many women longing for the spa but no time to get there. So why not save a few steps and bring the spa experience to the home







Honestly if I could afford to live at a spa I would, says Anna Pietrocola, a cosmetic executive who's been working in the health and beauty industry for more than 16 years, who's also a wife and mom.



Pietrocola tries to balance her lifestyle but finds it difficult to carve out time for herself. So, she created a spa in her own home.



It's a great feeling to know you can come home from a rough day and just walk into an area in your home that will re-energize you, and help you forget about the problems of the day--at least for a little while, says Pietrocola.



She's part of a growing trend among busy women that's been picking up steam over the last five years. In fact, home spas are the latest trend in bathroom design. Whether it's a lavish remodeling project or a modest addition of some pampering accessories, women are planning their escapes in their own homes.



Depending on the extent of the home spa someone wants to create, it can cost as little as $50 for a few accessories to $10-thousand and over for complete renovations.



Pietrocola says creating her oasis wasn't easy. Though she found an assortment of web sites that offered help in buying spa products or creating a home spa experience, no site put it all together.



I decided to try and create a place online where a person can get information, advice, resources and products that will help them create and enhance their own all encompassing spa experience at home, she says.

Although I love going to the spa and will always make it a point to get there, In reality, I cannot always get there, says Pietrocola. Having a mini spa away from the spa is a great way to carve out a little me time whenever I can for as long, or as little, as I can.
