Transitional Home Accessories Featured in the New Season of Moving...



Moving Up, a series on The Learning Channel (TLC) hosted by noted TLC personality Doug Wilson, returns for a second season. The show follows a chain of new homeowners who move into each other'ss homes and begin the design and renovation process. They all have plenty to say about their new digs and the unappealing design demons the past owners left behind! They work tirelessly to make their new houses their homes through numerous design choices and big renovations. After the renovations are complete, the old homeowners get the rare chance to visit their once beloved homes and see all of the new changes. The Maffei family cultivated a transitional look, a combination of modern and traditional styles, for their new home in Lambertville, NJ. Furthering their storage and organization efforts, the Maffeis incorporated into their attractive room design a Triple-Wide Multimedia Case with twenty-seven shelves that hold an impressive 1,780 CDs, which can be adjusted to store DVDs, videotapes or books. Its simple style and black finish blend with the existing décor, showcasing only the impressive media collection. In another area of the home, the family opted for the storage capabilities of the versatile Hampton Bay Four-Drawer/Two-Door Cabinet. This stylish wood cabinet has intricate details of classic furniture like crown molding, glass doors and bun feet.



A few pieces from Home Decorators Collection'ss lighting gallery found their way into the Maffei home, too. Enhancing the family'ss decorating scheme, the transitional design of the Tripod Table Lamp and Floor Lamp harmonizes with their traditional and modern decor. The base of this unique lamp is crafted of metal with a durable, brown oil-rubbed finish, and it features a cream fabric drum shade. The Maffeis also selected the graceful, natural forms of the Twigs Flush-Mount ceiling fixture. Its gentle trailing vines and exquisite scavo glass are reminiscent of vintage ceiling fixtures, while its bold, distinctive design complements even the most modern of interiors.



New episodes of Moving Up can be seen on Saturday evenings at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. The first episode of the new season aired on January 6, 2007.
