The DEMRI Learning Gateway, (based on the moodle e-learning platform) is gearing up to publish its first array of Open Courses, and Reusable Learning Assets. The DEMRI'ss deployment of
this widely adopted (course management system) reflects the organizations sincere dedication to its stated goals and objectives.
The function of the DEMRI Learning Gateway is to serve as a functional learning mechanism to develop and publish knowledge resources that are not readily accessible to its user base, the
African diaspora.
The Learning Gateway is the companion site to the DEMRI Portal, a collaborative development environment established to serve as the foundry for creating Reusable Learning Assets (RLAs)
which can be exported to Moodle sites and other learning content management systems such as BlackBoard® and others. The DEMRI Portal features a full-fledged workflow process, with visual
scafolding and collaborative tools to support the RLA development and publishing process.
Amazingly. the RLA development process is very straight forward and user friendly at the DEMRI Portal, which promises to make the resource a widely adopted tool for creating knowledge
resources in the context of its user base. Educators, Authors, Students, Subject Matter Experts (SME'ss) and other members of the diaspora will find these tools very useful
The first of an array of newly released course subjects will be Maximum Cultural Development 101, with other courses being developed in parallel, scheduled for subsequent release.
