Shaping the Future of Language Standards Vienna Summit Dec. 1415



The upcoming Language Standards for Global Business (LSGB) conference has confirmed several more prominent speakers to its assembly of global luminaries in the fields of standards, localization, globalization, translation (& related industries) and their applications to modern business. The summit is slated to be an international gathering of industry leaders held in one of Europe's most scenic settings - Vienna, Austria during the holiday season. Consequently, the Vienna Conference (December 14-15), entitled From Chaos to Order, promises to be the most compelling LSGB conference yet.



Contrary to some misinformation that has been circulating on the Web, the LSGB is still 100 percent not for profit.



Besides the keynote addresses presented by such industry leaders as Gerard Meijssen, the creator of Wikforstandards.org Nico Sallembien of Google, and Felix Sasaki (via webcast from Japan) of the W3C, the conference will also feature presentations by notable business and academic authorities from all over the world.



Felix Sasaki, Internationalization Activity, W3C/Keio University in Japan says: Language standards are being developed within a great variety of scientific and business communities. They can only be successfully applied if these communities come together.



The event will feature interactive panel presentations and discussions. The panel presentation, Globalisation - Speed versus quality, includes presentations by Bettina Reichart, Senior Manager of Vendor & Language Solutions at Oracle Corporation, Germany, Jiri Stejskal, President-elect ATA, President CETRA Inc., USA, Michal Küfhaber, Global Production Manager,Skrivanek Translations, Czech Republic, and Alfredo Spagna, Managing Director, Arancho Nordic Oy, Finland, and will be moderated by Maryse Benhoff of BG Communications in Canada.



The panel, An Inventory of Tools will be moderated by Nico Sallembien, Software Engineer, Google, and includes presentations by Ziad Chama, Freelance Translation Technology Consultant, SDL / Trados in Germany, Gerhard Budin, Professor, University of Vienna, Austria, Udo Leinhäuser, Leinhäuser & Partner, Germany, Sabine Cretella, translator and evangelist, Open Progress, Italy, and Andrzej Zydroñ, CTO, XML Intl., Poland.



In addition, Sue Ellen Wright, a Professor at the Institute of Applied Linguistics (Kent State University, USA) and a leading authority on the new IETF standards, will present on Locale Standards, Ziad Chama, Freelance Translation Technology Consultant, SDL / Trados in Germany, will present Standards, standards, standards, Gerhard Budin, Professor, University of Vienna, Austria, Case studies of databases , and Joseph Dengler, LinguaNet AG, France, will present Format exchange in localization.
