New Englands Largest Private Regional CPA Firm Offers Municipal Seminar
April 22, 2005 -- Melanson Heath & Company, P.C., an accounting and management firm, is offering a seminar on Municipal Accounting in Norwood, Massachusetts for the sixteenth year. Two of the firms partners will be instructing this course which runs every Thursday in May from 9:00-4:00 at the Norwood Recreation Center (registration required).
This program is designed for the Town Accountant/City Auditor (or Assistant) who has not had adequate training in this complex accounting subject matter. The material is presented in a format that makes it understandable. It is also beneficial for others who work in or with the accounting department of a municipality.
We will also provide an update of the GASB 34 (financial reporting model) requirements specifically discussing the impact on Massachusetts town accountants. Over 200 Town accountants and City auditors have already attended this seminar.
The presenters are Patrice Squillante, CPA and Frank R. Biron, CPA, who are shareholders in the Municipal Services Department of Melanson, Heath & Company. Both Pat and Frank have instructed this course for the past 15 years and have considerable practical experience with UMAS, the Statutory Accounting System, and in performing UMAS conversions.
