Arizona County Employee Wins Award for Implementing New Technology



When was the last time that implementing a new piece of technology in your jail or prison won you an award for being an innovative employee Carol File at Yavapai County, Arizona hadn't experienced such a thing either. That was, until, she lead the team that implemented a new jail management system and new inmate phone system into her county jail. Carol File, the Detention Services Records Manager with Yavapai County, recently was awarded the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office 2007 Civilian Employee of the Year Award for the outstanding job she has done by implementing an innovative new Offender Management System (http://www.dsiiti.com/products/Offender_Management_System.shtml) from Digital Solutions Inc. and Offender Communication System (http://www.dsiiti.com/products/Offender_Communication_System.shtml) from Inmate Telephone Inc.

Yavapai County, Arizona, operates two facilities, a 143 bed jail in Prescott, AZ and a 644 bed jail in Camp Verde, AZ. In 2007, both county jails' inmate telephone contracts expired leaving the county officials to release a request for proposal for the inmate telephone system and other value added services. Through the request for proposal process, Yavapai County selected Digital Solutions / Inmate Telephone, Inc. from Altoona, PA to provide its inmate telephone system and jail management system.
