EFAA Celebrates Two New Solar Electric Systems with Boulder MayorMatt...

Boulder, CO May 6, 2009 -- The Emergency Family Assistance Association (EFAA) celebrated its two new solar electric systems on Monday, May 4, 2009 at 3pm at 1575 Yarmouth Avenue in Boulder with the City of Boulder'ss Mayor Matt Applebaum. EFAA helps those in the Front Range community whose immediate needs for food, shelter, and other basic necessities cannot adequately be met by other means.

The two solar photovoltaic arrays, both designed and installed by Namast's233; Solar, were fully funded by generous contributions of community partners:

>    The 9.66 kW rooftop array was funded by a Namast's233; Solar Matching Grant, covering 50% of post-rebate cost, as well as by ClimateSmart, and the Center for ReSource Conservation. The rooftop system will reduce carbon emissions by 27, 801 lbs/year, which is equivalent to planting 1069 trees.

>    The 9.36 kW carport array was funded 100% by the Center for ReSource Conservation, thanks to a donation from a Boulder based family foundation. The carport array will reduce carbon emissions by 26,938 lbs/year, which is equivalent to planting 1,036 trees.

The solar photovoltaic systems that have been donated to EFAA mean a great deal of savings to EFAA over the years. These savings will translate into our ability to provide more help to people in our community who are struggling to meet their basic needs's8230;now and in the future. said Terry Benjamin, Executive Director of EFAA.
