Recently, Convertech, Inc. announced the release of its newest differential winding shaft design, which is an upgrade over previous models. The addition of CoreLock pads improves friction to ensure every core is gripped firmly once the internal clutch is actuated.

Defects cost time and money, so accurate tension management is a must. Convertech's new differential winding shaft is designed to manage tension across multiple width cores and materials. GlideLock clutched rollers use an internal clutching to manage tensions as low as .15 PLI. The rollers allow easy loading and unloading of cores yet lock firmly when actuated.

Efficiency is also a high priority for converters. Convertech's GlideLock clutched rollers allow multiple width cores and materials on the same shaft. Using a bi-directional, internal clutching mechanism these differential winding shafts are able to efficiently manage a wide variety of core types, sizes, and materials simultaneously.

Ease of use means Convertech's differential winding shaft creates fewer issues for operators. Loading and unloading is easy, and tension control is automatic. To load, the operator simply slides cores into place. Once actuated and running, the patented internal clutching mechanism automatically adjusts each individual roller to match the tension requirements of the core and material. Unloading is just as easy; finished rolls slide gently off the shaft.
