Pickles Auctions Sells 26000 Vehicles in Online Auctions

This month Pickles Auctions are celebrating selling more than 26,000 vehicles in their online auctions (http://www.pickles.com.au/cars/).

Since Pickles launched the first Australian live online vehicle auction in February 2004, internet sales have increased to more than 20% of Pickles Auctions' total with these figures likely to increase.

National Marketing Manager at Pickles Auctions, Bev Cameron, believes the success of Pickles Live is because it offers a simple, secure and stress-free way of buying a vehicle at auction.

"Many of our general public buyers are time poor but still want to invest in a quality vehicle at a reasonable price," she said. "Pickles Live offers a convenient way to buy a car from the comfort of their home or office."

"Online auctions are now an accepted, and in some cases essential way to purchase items and forecasted trends say that the number of online auction transactions will not slow down."

Pickles Auctions now offer more than 8,000 cars (http://www.pickles.com.au/trucks/) live online to choose from at any one time and are conducting in excess of 100 auctions per month online.

"Our regular trade buyers are also making this system their main method of buying, as Pickles Live gives them access to participate in up to three auctions at once across Australia," said Bev.

Pickles Live allows buyers to participate in live onsite auctions from the comfort of their home or office. Buyers can view photographs of all the cars for sale, hear the auctioneer call the bids over the internet and join in the bidding with a click of a button.

My Watch List - This feature notifies buyers via a pop-up screen when the cars they are interested in are available for auction.

My Purchases - This feature enables online buyers the opportunity to view all the listings of the lots they have purchased and sort by lot, sale, date and location.

Simultaneous Bidding Across Multiple Auctions - This new feature allows regular trade buyers participate in up to three auctions at once in any Pickles live onsite auction across Australia.
