Artists and performers are promoting their shows on a new -- and fast-growing -- website that is exclusively for creative arts. ComeSeeMyShow.com (http://www.ComeSeeMyShow.com) doesn't have any "web clutter" like pop-ups and paid banner ads for home loans or wrinkle cream. Just ads that performers and artists create for their shows.
The website's creator, Brett Juilly, is a former garage band keyboardist who knows how little money up-and-comers have for advertising. He quit his computer programming job after seven
years to create this site as a supportive on-line arts community, with free advertising and lots of ideas for putting on shows. (Just click the "How to Have a Show" link.) For the
artist/performer with a little extra money, the site will soon "feature" one ad per day per category. That means that one play, one music gig, or one art exhibit will be displayed at the
top of the main page every day -- making the ad stand out from the rest of the shows. The cost for the soon-to-be-famous performer or artist Just $20. Every guitarist, actor, poet,
dancer, sculptor, comedian and puppeteer can afford that.
