Fashiontribes on Ready-to-Wear Trends: "The New York Ready-ot-Wear shows were grown up & wearable, London was edgy & aggressive, Milan was ladylike & sexy, while Paris lived up to expectation with gorgeous theatricality," explains Fashiontribes.com's Scott. "A trend of surprisingly lightweight, seasonless dressing emerged; in lieu of the expected heavy knits, protective overcoats, and traditional fall/winter looks, it's been a parade of diaphanous fabrics, bare arms & legs, and a palette of decidedly non-wintery colors. Fur made an appearance on most A-list runways, as did generous silhouettes that engulf the wearer in a cozy, protective set of fabric armor, ladylike hats, metallics (still), crayon-bright colors, prominent prints, slouchy-chic trousers, sky-high heels, and menswear inspired chic grey dresses."

Papierdoll (http://papierblog.papierdoll.net/2007/07/06/the-babushka/) are fascinated about the return of this peasant staple as not only a trendy item, but one with legs. No longer the domain of older women, this head piece is now being touted as a central look for women who want to stay warm while being stylish. The babushka seems reinvigorated according to Papierdoll, noting that no fewer than 4 designers from New York Fall fashion week featured a Babushka in some form. Among the London designers putting out a version of babushka are Bora Aksu, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs and Blumarine.
