Nature Bridges Announces the Completion of Phase I TopDown Bridge and Boardwalk Construction

Nature Bridges (naturebridges.com), specialists in top-down bridge and boardwalk construction for environmentally sensitive areas announced today the completion of Beachwalk Phase I of top-down construction of boardwalk and bridges at the Windmark Beach in Gulf County, Florida.

The completed project includes 210 feet of 8' wide elevated timber boardwalk construction with guardrail, 435 linear feet of top-down bridge construction, the 500' long Village Center boardwalk, seven custom wooden benches, and one trellis. The Village Center boardwalk is 500' in length with varying widths from 10' to 35', and includes 1,340 feet of guardrail and a 20 x 18 elevated platform. This large boardwalk connects WindMark Village Center to the beach.

One of the main objectives of the Windmark Beachwalk project was to use the natural beauty for landscaping purposes while not disturbing the native plant and animal habitats. In order to preserve the natural elements, the boardwalks were built using the innovative top-down boardwalk construction method. With top-down construction, all large equipment stays on top of the new structure during the entire building

process. This method provides a long-lasting structure and helps to preserve the surrounding plant and animal habitats during and after construction.

Windmark Beach will include a total of 1,662 residences to be released on 2,020 acres of carefully planned, environmentally sensitive land with 3.5 miles of beachfront.
