Northwest Door Named 2008 Recycler of the Year



Northwest Door of Tacoma, Washington has been named a 2008 Recycler of the Year by the Washington State Recycling Association. Since initiating a comprehensive recycling program in April 2007, Northwest Door has reduced their plant waste by 70%, diverting over 1,200 tons of materials from the local landfill. Over 85% of solid waste materials are now recycled, including steel, tin, wood, plastics, cardboard, cans, bottles, and insulation foam. In addition to the reduction of their environmental footprint, this has resulted in a $70,000 reduction of garbage disposal costs for the company.
