Shingo Prize Recipient Gary Conner Makes New Lean Manufacturing Workshop Guide Available for Free

May 17, 2005 -- This is the follow-up to our Shingo Prize winning book "Lean Manufacturing for the Small Shop," published by SME.

The Shingo Prize is awarded once per year and is considered the Nobel Prize for manufacturing excellence. This award is named after Shigeo Shingo, a Japanese engineer who proved instrumental in turning around Toyota's manufacturing system. Since then, the rest of the world has attempted to adopt the many tools he and his team developed and applied.

Many job shops and make-to-order companies are struggling to apply the techniques utilized during the transformation of the Toyota Production System.

Our goal is to bring a greater awareness of these powerful lean manufacturing tools to a larger audience, along with advice on how these tools can be applied, even in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.

This text focuses primarily on the tools from which small and medium sized manufacturers can recognize immediate benefits.

Therefore, we are offering a PDF version of our new 350 page text at no cost, to anyone wishing to obtain a copy.

The entire file is about nine megabytes in size, larger than we can post here. So just drop us an email and we will send you the complete file.

This text is used in our 1-week workshops as a course outline.

Upcoming workshops are scheduled for
Chicago, IL (June 13-17)
Portland, OR (July 17-21)
Seattle, WA (Sept 26-30)
Las Vegas, NV (Oct 3-7)

Course outlines, locations, costs and registration information can be obtained by email request or by visiting our website.
