Cognis QTA and Biodiesel Analytical Solutions Partner to Better Serve...

Cognis Corporation, through its QTA's174; System business, recently announced that it has teamed up with Biodiesel Analytical Solutions (BAS) to support the growing list of U.S. biodiesel plants that rely on QTA'ss rapid quality and process control technology. BAS is the leading authority on biodiesel quality testing and offers biodiesel plants a One Stop Shop to fully equip each plant'ss quality testing laboratory using the best available technology. QTA has led the industry in the development of infrared based process and quality control analytics that are highly accurate across varied feedstocks with consistent results between various facilities.

Cognis QTA'ss patented Biodiesel Analysis starts by digitizing the light spectra of the biodiesel sample using proven infrared technology. Those spectra are then sent, via the internet, to Cognis's central database where algorithms--called Chingometrics's8482;-- converts the spectra, in real-time, into industry standard quality measurements that are then viewed online. All this occurs in less than two minutes without the time and expense of building and testing calibrations.

BAS will sell and support the QTA System to the Biodiesel industry throughout the U.S. QTA will continue to maintain its online 24/7 support and will continue its work with NBB, ASTM and AOCS to ensure that its system calibrations meet and exceed both current and future industry standards.
