REMAS Announces Web Based High Value Asset Tracking HVATrack System
REMAS.gov, LLC, a communications and high-tech data transport company has today announced that it is offering a Web based satellite tracking service for high value assets in the maritime, land and air markets named HVATrack. The tracking technology can be anywhere from simple GPS (Global Positioning System) reporting in at pre-determine intervals to sophisticated Geo-Fencing (immediate report if an asset leaves a certain geographical area), or reporting if the asset moves at all and numerous other rich features. REMAS provides the programming and hardware that reports via-satellite to REMAS servers based in Englewood, Colorado. REMAS also provides rich GUI (Graphical User Interface) geographical screens that show where the asset is now and where it'ss been previously and other screens that show all of a customer'ss assets worldwide and full navigation zooming and selection capabilities. An additional feature allows the customer to download all or part of an asset'ss locations and reporting (historical data) in spreadsheet and/or XML formats. Each customer will have Web access only to his or her own assets.
This is a low cost, small and easy to install system, said Curt Jensen, President of REMAS. Each unit is individually contained in a NEMA 4X - Military Std. 870 hardened case that is 4 X 11 inches and a battery that will last up to eight years. This unit can be easily mounted anywhere on the asset that is clear to the sky and does not have to be aligned. Given the life of the batteries, the individual web based screens and the ease of installation, there is nothing out there that can be price competitive with this solution. Jensen further states, We provide rental or sale of the HVATrack units and a low monthly fee for Web access.
As an example of maritime applications, REMAS says that while some customers will want to see ships they operate, other customers with assets on those ships will want to also know the location of each ship. With the permission of the ship operator, a web site for the customers can be setup to allow the customers access to their individual information. We have some customers that want to see incoming land cargo, yard storage and then where it is on the ocean, said Jensen. This is easy to accomplish if either the cargo or the transportation has a HVATrack attached. This is known as inter-modal logistics. We expect that our system will be used to track cargo containers worldwide that transfer from ship to port to train to truck. Having a worldwide satellite system allows easy access to whatever needs the customer has in one seamless system.
