Marine Mechanics Cart Keeps Boaters Happy



February 19, 2005 -- Frank McCleneghen never really understood why some marinas ordered new dock carts every year and others seemed to have the original carts from 20 years ago. After some informal surveying of his marina customers he found the reason. Mr. McCleneghen, Vice-President of Kadco USA Inc, a manufacturer and retailer of dock carts and dock accessories, found that some marina owners provided specific carts for their marine contractors and mechanics. The marinas that provided a dedicated cart for contractors and mechanics were getting triple the life out of the non-contractor carts. "We had a lot of marina owners asking us about a cart for mechanics and visiting marine contractors so they didn't have to use the customers' carts," said Kadco USA's Frank McCleneghen. "Mechanics use our carts to haul tools and outboard motors; customers don't want to use them for their picnic baskets and beach towels."

The next logical step for Kadco USA was to manufacture a dedicated cart for marine contractors and mechanics. Kadco developed the Marine Pro Cart. The cart was designed with the idea that a mechanic is going to want to haul everything in one load, including the outboard. "We wanted a cart that was built to take a lot of abuse and last as long as our standard dock carts," said McCleneghen. The Cart is Kadco USA's newest dock cart designed specifically for marine professionals who need to haul heavy tools and equipment over docks and through parking lots.

The Marine Pro is designed for loads of up to 500 lbs. It has two rugged flat-free urethane tires similar to a wheelbarrow, but with superior load balance and stability.
