Busy People can MultiTask their Fitness Goals

When Krav Maga DFW opened its doors in April of 2005, the residents of Dallas gained more than a fitness center; they gained the opportunity to get physically fit while also learning the valuable skill of self-protection.

This new facility located at 4043 Trinity Mills in the heart of Dallas promises, and delivers, a great head-to-toe workout to students during classes in which Krav Maga (pronounced Krähv Ma-gäh), the official hand-to-hand combat system for the Israeli military, is taught. Now instead of riding bikes to nowhere or walking up eternal staircases, would-be gym goers can multi-task their way to strong bodies while learning how to keep themselves safe.

Practicing yoga, taking spinning classes, and lifting weights will help keep a body fit, but one only has to keep abreast of current happenings to know that learning to defend oneself must be made a priority in today's world.A fit person may be able to outrun an attacker or even have enough strength to pull away from an attacker's grip, but often that is not enough. And what about people who are not as fit as they could be Krav Maga and Jack Bolowskie's Stay Safe© program can teach even people of average physical ability how to react and get out alive when threatened or attacked.

Janet, a student of Krav Maga, recounted an incident in a nightclub in which she believes her Krav Maga training saved her life: "A guy followed me in to the restroom and tried to corner me. If this had happened before I learned Krav Maga, I know I would have panicked. But because Krav Maga had taught me how to use my natural instincts in combination with uncomplicated movements, I didn't even have to think about what to do. I just did it and got out of there unharmed."

Krav Maga DFW offers classes that would appeal to people who have never taken a fitness class, people who are expert in other forms of Martial Arts, and everyone in between. Jack Bolowskie, a 22-year veteran of multiple Martial Arts disciplines and the owner of Krav Maga DFW maintains that his facility is unique in more ways than one; "Not only do we offer an excellent way for both young and old to get in shape and learn how to protect themselves, but we provide our students personal attention at a level that no large fitness club could ever hope to. Our students' progress is our first concern, and we do everything we can to help each person reach his or her personal goals--whether they are fitness-related or self defense-related."

Krav Maga was originally created to teach soldiers in the Israeli military to save their own lives in close-quarter combat. Redeveloped for civilians in 1964, it has recently become one of the fastest growing martial arts systems in the world. The FBI, NYPD, and the U.S. Secret Service have recognized its merits and are training their operatives in Krav Maga. And now it has caught the attention of Hollywood; celebrities like Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Garner, Lucy Liu, James Gandolfini, Cameron Diaz, and Patrick Swayze are just a few that are using their workout time to learn practical self defense techniques.

Krav Maga DFW's mission is tri-fold; to offer a unique workout experience that never becomes monotonous; to train people of all ages and fitness levels how to react defensively and protect themselves from attackers, and to offer a high level of support to all students.
