The Denver Fencing Center - Golden is expanding to a larger location for people to learn the sport of fencing. Starting on January 5, 2008, classes will be taught at 2400 Ford Street, right next to Golden High School.
DFC originally expanded to Golden in January 2007, where it operated two nights per week. The Golden program, spearheaded by coach Russell Gibson, has attracted students from throughout
the West metro area. In light of the demand and growth of the program, a move to a larger venue was in order.
DFC-Golden will offer 13 classes per week, in the following age groups: Musketeer (age 6-9), Kids (age 8-14), Teen (age 13-19), and Adult (15-99). "The response to our Golden program has
been tremendous. This expansion of fencing will allow more people to take up this fun and exciting sport. We have high expectations for this facility and its fencers," commented Nathan
Anderson, Head Coach/Owner of Denver Fencing Center. DFC Golden also plans to offer a series of summer camps in 2008.
Coach Russell Gibson, who was the 2005-2006 Colorado Cup Foil Champion, will teach the Golden classes. He graduated from United States Fencing Association's Coaches College.
Registration for Golden classes is now open. Space is limited. On-line registration and more information can be found at www.denverfencingcenter.com or call 303-922-7288.
