The story of Adler Volmar is a remarkably positive story about a Haitian American athlete who simply never gave up. Against all odds he made it back from a severe knee injury in four months when doctors only gave him a one percent chance to even compete in the trials. Then he took the top prize at the Olympic trials in a breathtaking performance that he won in sudden death overtime by turning his opponent, Brian Picklo, in mid-air to win his weight class and represent Team USA. See http://www.smartproinsight.com/adlervolmar.htm.
Now Volmar will attempt to be the first US Olympian to win a gold medal in Judo. You will soon be hearing and seeing more about this terrific individual who is also a US Navy combat
medic, personal trainer, motivational speaker, and was a body-guard for a recent US presidential campaign. While you will learn of his of endless willpower and resilience in the national
media, he will need much more public financial support to make his gold medal dream a reality.
Since Volmar made the Olympic team so late in 2008, he was not eligible for USA Judo funding. A special party in his honor raised $4,000 two weeks ago in his hometown of Coral Springs,
Florida, but that will not be nearly enough to meet his extensive training, equipment, staff and travel expenses. To be able to make ends meet, and to provide proper training for an
athlete so deserving yet so under-funded, he has personally initiated a $25,000 fund raising campaign, assisted by the Mayor of Coral Springs and his sport psychologist, Dr. John F.
Murray. He hopes that companies or individuals will recognize this deeply meaningful cause and come forward with gifts of $1,000 (bronze medal level), $5,000 (silver medal level), or
$10,000 (gold medal level) to help raise the needed $25,000 to pay for his expenses. All the information about this Olympic fund raising campaign can be found at: http://www.smartproinsight.com/adlervolmar.htm.
"I am going to improve many people's lives by winning the first gold medal in Judo in US Olympic history," stated Volmar.
