Separate Battles



Part of the reason Hepatitis C has such a stigma is because the media can't say Hepatitis C without including Aids. They are two totally separate diseases with only one common factor Blood. There are many diseases passed through blood. Although I feel for people with Aids, I don't think that the publicity gained by affiliating with people with Aids has done any good for people with Hepatitis C. It has only taken some social pressure off of Aids. The intent in affiliating was to get help, get the truth out.

What truth is out there Have Aids organizations told the truth about Hepatitis C No they haven't. Tell the public it is NOT the same disease. Tell the public it is NOT a STD. That would be helping. So what if some people have both diseases. Some people have more than one of many diseases. Although I would support Aids people in any way that I could, it is a separate battle and should stay that way.
