Ontario East Organ Transplantees asks everyone to Stop Burying the Cure

An article released on Wednesday July27 in The Picton Gazette highlighted the urgent need for donor organs to become more freely available in Canada.

A prominent doctor was quoted as saying, "We must stop burying the cure."

When questioned further on this, the doctor explained that medical science has advanced to the point when organ transplantation is highly successful, allowing the recipients to return to being contributing members of society again.

The Ontario East Transplant Support Group which operates out of Belleville, Ontario (613 476 9199) is a group of individuals who are both pre and post transplant and dedicate themselves to raising public awareness on the need to sign that donor card and tell a member of your family what your wishes are.

Too many potential donor organs are going to the grave when they could be providing the greatest gift of all.The Gift of Life to another.

The OETSG provides awareness seminars to schools, public bodies, service clubs and churches on request. This group would welcome your assistance in reducing the numbers on Ontario's Transplant waiting list as well as introducing those who might benefit from having contact with them.
