Regenetech Announces HIV Breakthrough

Houston based Regenetech, Inc. has announced it has filed two patent applications on compositions for prevention of the transmission of the HIV virus.

The HIV virus causes AIDS, the deadly disease that has become an epidemic in many countries. Regenetech specializes in the expansion of adult stem cells for regeneration of tissue and therapeutic treatment. According to Regenetech's Chief Scientist, Dr. Donnie Rudd, Regenetech's adult stem cell work has led to the discovery of the ability to produce certain molecules that have been shown to prevent HIV transmission in primates.

Regenetech is looking to have clinical studies performed is areas most affected by AIDS, such as Africa.

Regenetech uses a NASA based technology, originally discovered in space shuttle experiments, for a proprietary method of growing stem cells three-dimensionally (3D) in a simulated weightless environment. The Company s technology is utilized after harvesting adult stem cells from patient s peripheral blood to filter and proliferate (expand) therapeutic quantities before re-introducing them back into the original patient. This technology and process allows the cells to be injected into the blood stream and potentially restore the malady. This process could eliminate the need for bone marrow transplants. If successful, the processes may result in a treatment for the reduction of Chemotherapy side effects as well as treatments for other significant illness including, heart attacks, diabetes, cirrhosis, and the repair of damaged tissue throughout the body.

The Company s preliminary research indicates that adult stem cells can be grown and harvested from a filtered extraction of the patient s own blood. This minimally invasive procedure reintroduces the patient s own stem cells to provide the repair and regeneration of the body tissue damaged by disease or trauma.

The new discovery was made by Dr. Rudd. Regenetech is in the final process of completing its discovery on a treatment for AIDS.
