Call for Global Disease Management Partnership Proposals
A multinational research consortium announced today the completion of phase one of Paradigma project. PARADIGMA (Participative Approach to Global Disease Management) is non-profit pilot research project, co-funded by European Community under the EUMEDIS Initiative and by 26 consortium partners from 10 countries. EUMEDIS - Euro-Mediterranean Information Society Initiative is a multi-billion euro research program that aims at developing and leveraging adoption of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in several sectors including health and disease management.
The main objective of phase one was to provide a startup model, platform and tools for further development. PARADIGMA project developed and demonstrated the use of Internet based platform to share scientific resources and findings in the treatment of major diseases. The consortium has a meeting in Milan Italy on Dec 15th to discuss Phase 2 project sustainability and geographic partnership expansion. The project will be open to new private, public and governmental partners from other all over the world. According to Medhat Younes, International Dissemination Partner, " Ideally we are looking for cooperation in the following four areas:
1. Medical/Research partners (provide content and best practices guidelines)
2. IT partners ( help develop Web based tools)
3. Dissemination/Media/Association partners (help promote visibility)
4. Funding Partners ( help finance and leverage the results)
