ReachMD XM Channel157 Launches Medical Breakthroughs in Partnership...



ReachMD, the voice of the medical community on XM radio 157, today announced their newest, original programming series, Medical Breakthroughs from the University of Pennsylvania Health System, which begins airing on November 5th. The 12-week comprehensive series will feature the newest medical advancements in the areas of oncology, cardiology, neurology, orthopedics, and genetics featuring America's leading physicians and medical researchers from the University of Pennsylvania.


"It is a great privilege to be working with one of the world's finest medical institutions with a history of leadership and achievement in field of medicine. Epstein added: "this program line-up is simply fantastic and will highlight medical breakthroughs such as the use of the gamma knife in surgery for more precise and safer procedures; surgical and medical management of heart transplantation; surgical and medical regimes in epilepsy; and, cutting edge technologies for joint replacement."



The new series is hosted by Dr. Lee Freedman, a board certified internist and practicing physician in the Midwest. "I am honored to be hosting this series called 'Medical Breakthroughs' from the University of Pennsylvania," said Dr. Freedman. "It's terrific to have the opportunity to interview such an impressive list of physician leaders including: Dr. John Y.K. Lee, MD- Medical Director, of the University's Gamma Knife Center; Dr. Garret A. FitzGerald, MD- Chair of the Department of Pharmacology and Director of the Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics and Professor of Cardiovascular Medicine; Dr. John Q. Trojanowski, MD, PhD- Director of the Alzheimer's Disease Center and Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine; Stephen M. Hahn MD- The new Chair of Radiation Oncology at the School of Medicine, and Vice Chair of Research for the Department of Radiation Oncology and Principal Investigator of National Cancer Institute grant; And, Dr. Louis J. Soslowsky, PhD- Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Bioengineering and Vice Chair for Research."
