Since 2000, PPAG has recognized over 30 outstanding individuals and pediatric institutions for projects that improve patient care and medication safety. In 2006, Lexi-Comp joined this effort by making a 5-year sponsorship commitment to the organization, strengthening their ability to recognize hospitals and practitioners who serve pediatric patients in outstanding ways.
The 2008 award recipients (http://www.ppag.org/en/art/550) will be recognized at the 17th Annual Pediatric Pharmacy Conference and Annual Meeting (http://www.ppag.org/am08/) in Baltimore, MD on Friday, October 3, 2008. A summary presentation of their work will be shared with over 300 attendees to provide ideas for improvements in patient care. Lexi-Comp will be participating in this program and the exhibitions October 3 - 5.
Lexi-Comp shares PPAG's mission to promote safe and effective medication use in children through communication, education, and research. Lexi-Comp's Pediatric Dosage Handbook (http://webstore.lexi.com/Store/Pharmacology-Books/Pediatric-Dosage-Handbook-15th-Edition-Taketomo) is an essential tool for many of PPAG's members and supports this effort. This same Pediatric drug information is also accessible in Lexi-Comp's web-based application, Lexi-Comp ONLINE.
