Anonimo Firenze Launches Exclusive Shelby Watch Line



Anonimo Firenze, the traditional Florentine Italian watch manufacturer will launch an exclusive line of timepieces that pay tribute to Carroll Shelby and the high performance cars his company, Shelby Automobiles, builds. The legendary manufacturer of the Shelby Cobra and the 2007 Ford Shelby GT and AnonimoUSA, have joined together in an exclusive arrangement to create the Anonimo Shelby Mark II SE. The new men's watch line will be available through select Anonimo dealers across the United States beginning in August 2007.



"The Anonimo/Shelby collaboration brings together two companies that have very similar philosophies and values, especially as it relates to teamwork and tradition," said Scott Moskovitz, President Anonimo USA. "It is an honor for our company to have been granted this opportunity".



Carroll Shelby is an international celebrity, but nowhere more revered and respected than in Italy. The famous Texan began his career driving Ferrari and Maserati sports cars before moving to Aston to capture LeMans in 1959. The steely eyed American was a dominant driver on two continents until a heart ailment forced him from behind the wheel.



In 1962, he founded Shelby American to build sports cars and race. His team earned their reputation on the European racing circuit by taking on and winning against the more established racing teams. Their Cobras won LeMans, captured the FIA World Championship and conquered motorsport events worldwide including at drag and road racing venues. The company's Mustang based Shelby GT350's also dominated racing in the United States during the 1960's. Forty years later, Shelby Automobiles continues to build the genuine Shelby Cobra, as well as the Ford Shelby GT and the forthcoming Ford Shelby GT500KR.

Anonimo and Shelby represent two companies who strive to create products that are not only special in their appearance and function, but also because they are produced in limited quantities by craftsmen who are responsible for each completed model. Both companies manufacture timeless designs in small controlled facilities that maximize the human touch in concert with the manufacturing process.



Designed with the same spirit found in every race-winning high performance Shelby car, the Shelby Mark II SE is based on the most recent Cronoscopio 2018 Mark II 44mm steel case, featuring a Shelby special edition dial and markings. In addition, the exhibition back features an engraved Shelby Cobra logo. Two dial treatments are being released that mirror the newest of the Shelby cars that were recently released; black with silver and black with gold dials. Also, each watch comes with multiple straps and a commemorative box featuring Mr. Shelby's signature.



The release is being timed with the famed Concourse d'Elegance car event in Carmel, Calif. Ironically, Carroll Shelby won the last race that Pebble Beach held on its streets in a 1953 Ferrari Monza. Only 500 units of each dial color will be made at a retail price of $5,500 each.
