The cast and crew of the hot new teen musical 's8220;In Your Dreams,'s8221; the underdog competitor to Disney Channel's8217;s top selling 's8220;High School Musical,'s8221; issued a
statement today consoling creator Zeke Farrow on the deletion of his quotes from the just-released 's8220;Newsweek's8221; cover story on the huge success of 's8220;High School
Musical.'s8221;
's8220;It was great being interviewed by Newsweek entertainment editor Johnnie Roberts, and I had high hopes that my comments on the teen entertainment industry would be included in his
cover story,'s8221; says Farrow, who also created the award winning film 's8220;Slo-Mo.'s8221; 's8220;But these things happen, and I hope that Johnnie will feel free to call me in the
future as the 's8216;In Your Dreams's8217; story progresses. And I congratulate Disney on its success in getting that huge cover Newsweek cover story -- it was a very interesting and
inspiring read.'s8221;
Meanwhile, says Farrow, the cast and crew offer their sympathy to those affected by the major cutbacks announced at the Disney film studios last week. Hopefully, we can find jobs for some
of those talented people in the production of my musical, he said. Disney announced last week that it will be cutting the number of films it makes each year from 18 to 8.
On a brighter note, says Farrow, 's8220;In Your Dreams's8221; has just acquired a set of agents in Hollywood who are 's8220;just crazy's8221; about his musical and have made plans to take
it to major producers in early August -- with some major 's8220;Young Hollywood's8221; stars attached. 's8220;I's8217;m very optimistic about this,'s8221; says Farrow. 's8220;Especially
as neither Disney nor any other major film company 's8211; despite the $100 million success of 's8216;High School Musical's8217; on cable alone -- has yet announced plans to release a
teen musical to the nation's8217;s theater chains. I think everyone involved will be very surprised and pleased by how things turn out for us. Everyone in the industry knows how hard
we's8217;ve been working to achieve our success.'s8221;
And Farrow also says he hopes to communicate soon with James Stengel, Procter & Gamble Co.'s8217;s global marketing officer, who was profiled in the July 10th issue of the Wall Street
Journal.
Mr. Stengel was telling a story of a musical campaign that Procter & Gamble, under his leadership, undertook in the Phillippines for a shampoo named Rejoice, says Farrow.
's8220;Procter & Gamble ended up writing a song for a very popular group there about a dance you would do for hair that is wonderful,'s8221; says Farrow. 's8220;That song -- and I
hear it was very corny, in the same way that 's8216;High School Musical's8217; and my own musical are said to be corny -- swept the country. It became the top song on radio stations, the
top download on ring tones 's8211; and their brand equity and brand share went up.'s8221;
Mr. Stengel is currently looking for ways to use music to promote products in other countries -- and presumably right here in the U.S., notes Farrow. And in a similar vein, Burger King
too is looking to create its own movie -- under the guidance of hot ad shop Crispin Porter & Bogusky.
Meanwhile, Farrow and his team have unleashed one of the most vivid adult characters from his musical -- Congresswoman Sherri Davis, R-CA -- into the world to help raise the musical'ss
visibility in the entertainment community. She'ss a very minor character, but tons of fun, says Farrow. And we'sve gotten many comments that she is scarily real. Davis -- whose Internet
stage presence has been compared favorably with that of the infamous Saturday Night Live Church Lady -- can be seen and heard on the following topics at the following links:

In Your Dreams's8221; is a large-scale, splashy, teen musical 's8211;- with just a dash of political satire. It centers around Helen, a seventeen-year-old girl who appears in three
different incarnations: Black, Pink, and Blue.
What is helping to fuel the 's8220;In Your Dreams Express,'s8221; according to Farrow, are its 13 ingeniously lyrical songs, performed by a number of top Broadway singers, including
's8220;Trailer Park's8217;s's8221; Drama Desk-nominated Leslie Kritzer, 's8220;Wicked's8217;s's8221; Laura Bell Bundy, 's8220;Les Miserable's8217;s's8221; Jodie Langel, 's8220;Little Shop

The stage version of 's8220;In Your Dreams's8221; will see a showcase production at Ars Nova, the famed Manhattan performance incubator, later this summer, says Farrow. http://broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfmcolid=9263
