When Philadelphia based FitForce Camp owner Jerry Hill heard that celebrity Michael Clarke Duncan had lost weight by wielding a sledgehammer and running with an old tire strapped to his
waist he was excited that people were finally ready to embrace this style of training.
's8220;Swinging a sledgehammer is a blast and it'ss also brutally effective,'s8221; said Hill, 's8220;It really tightens up your abs while melting away that stubborn fat.'s8221;He adds
that the classic overhead strike and hands together hip strike are a good place to start when learning how to use the sledge. Tire sprints are pretty simple; 's8220;Take a piece of rope.
Tie one end of it around the tire, the other end around your waist and take off running.'s8221;
Hill gives his top three workouts using these unique tools:
1. Set your stopwatch - 100 sledgehammer strikes. Keep track of your total time.
2. Set your stopwatch - 60 yard tire sprint with 60 yard walking recovery for 10 rounds.Keep track of your total time.
3. Set your stopwatch:
A. 20 sledgehammer strikes
B. 60 yard tire sprint out and back
*Repeat for 5 rounds, keep track of your total time*
