The art of picking up women is hurting men all over the world to attract and date beautiful women. Not only is it hurting their pick-up skills but is also hurting the confidence and self esteem of students of pick-up.

The art of picking up women has become a phenomenon with shows like The Pick-Up Artist on Vh1. More and more men are following the trend to learn from the so-called pick-up gurus all over the world.

Little do the students of pick-up know that their effort to become good with women is ultimately going to hurt their success with women.

According to dating coach Magic, who runs Social Skills Institute (http://www.socialskillsinstitute.com) in LA, most pick-up schools out their teach men how to manipulate women using tricks and stories to sleep with them. This results in lower self-esteem among the students of pick-up.

By using tricks and techniques to seduce women, students are sub communicating to themselves that they are not good enough to win women on their own.

According to Magic, it should be the opposite. He believes that the ultimate job of a dating coach should be to help a student date beautiful women by making him believe in himself.

He reports that lately he has been working with an increasing number of students who are victim to the game as they call it in the pick-up community. These are men who have been practicing the art of pick-up for over a year with little to no success. Recently one of the students tried to kill himself because he could not get any woman to like him, despite practicing the game for over two years.

The first thing I tell my students is to 'sstop being the gamey guy, says Magic.
