Doe Run Donates $30000 to Herculaneum Bicentennial Event
The Doe Run Company recently donated $15,000 to the Herculaneum Bicentennial Committee 's8211; with an additional $15,000 donation planned for November 's8211; to help fund year-long celebrations commemorating the founding of Herculaneum.

's8220;The city has earmarked $40,000 over the past four years to help fund this celebration and Doe Run's8217;s sponsorship nearly doubles that amount. The company's8217;s contributions will go a long way to underwriting events this fall and in 2008.'s8221;
Gary Hughes, Doe Run Herculaneum Smelting Division general manager, presented the first of two $15,000 checks to the Herculaneum Bicentennial Committee on May 21.

Residents of Herculaneum will kick-off the 200-year anniversary this fall with a three-day celebration from Oct. 5 through 7. The event, organized by the Herculaneum Bicentennial Committee, will include entertainment, a carnival, craft fair, car show, food, beer garden and more.
