Exprodat Launches New Terrain and Image Analysis Training Coursefor...

Exprodat announces the launch of a new Petroleum GIS training course: 'sTerrain and Image Analysis for E's38;P's. The new course is the latest addition to Exprodat'ss Petroleum GIS Training Programme: classroom based training modules designed to help oil and gas professionals apply GIS technology more effectively to common petroleum workflows. More details are available at http://www.exprodat.com.

Exprodat'ss Training Manager, Chris Skelly, says, Our 'sTerrain and Image Analysis's course is hands-on, learn-by-doing style training delivered in small instructor led classes. The focus is on using ArcGIS desktop tools to enable professionals to make the most of widely available terrain data and satellite imagery.

The course uses a wide spectrum of terrain and image data common in E's38;P and introduces participants to new methods of analysing these data. We want participants to hit the ground running when they get back to their day jobs, so we focus our courses on achieving this outcome. The hands-on workflows and course materials are great, but it is the quality of our trainers, who have a rare combination of GIS, geoscience and petroleum sector knowledge that makes our training valuable and unique.

Exprodat'ss introductory 'sApplied ArcGIS Techniques for E's38;P's course was the first of its kind in the oil and gas sector, and Exprodat has built on its success by developing an entire training programme focused on applying ArcGIS technology to exploration and production workflows. TAP certified (www.tap-training.com) instructors ensure interactive small class learning environments that provide participants with ArcGIS skills and knowledge needed for projects back at the office. The latest course to be added to the programme provides additional opportunities for oil and gas companies to increase the value and effectiveness of spatial data across their organization.

Exprodat'ss E's38;P focused ArcGIS training courses are based on a broad experience of the applications of GIS within the petroleum sector, gained through working on many projects with clients. The training programme includes classes in how to apply GIS techniques to common E's38;P workflows like acreage analysis, play fairway analysis, environmental assessment, gridding and geostatistics, terrain modeling and satellite image analysis.
