MidSouth Authors High Fantasy Series Finally Complete

It took him nearly a lifetime, but it's8217;s finally done.

H. David Blalock's8217;s high fantasy series comes to a close with the release of 's8220;Ultima Thran: Book Six of the Thran Chronicles's8221;, now available. 's8220;Ultima Thran's8221; signals the culmination of a project Blalock began in the early 1970's8217;s.

's8220;The idea for the series began literally as a dream,'s8221; Blalock said. 's8220;I had originally written the Chronicles as a single volume, but the logistics of producing the book proved too much for me. I could not find a publisher willing to take on the risk of a first-time novelist with a 1,200 page book.'s8221;

The Thran Chronicles manuscript remained unpublished until Blalock discovered an online publisher called Booklocker.com.

's8220;Booklocker has made it possible for me to finally bring this story to the public. I cannot praise Booklocker highly enough,'s8221; Blalock said.

The Thran Chronicles is set far in Earth's8217;s past, but crosses dimensions and time lines during the course of the story. Although the majority of the story has to do with a single family in five generations, the overall story arc is eventually proven to be seen through the eyes of one man, Baliak Kel Mari, who is not human but a being called Kel.

's8220;Traditionally, high fantasy has dealt with the races introduced to literature by men like J.R.R. Tolkien,'s8221; Blalock said. 's8220;Although the non-humans in the Chronicles are similar, I believe the reader will realize that they are most definitely not the same.'s8221;
