Blogging Software Developer Mullenweg to Address Major Internet Conference as U.S. Switches from T.V. to Internet for News



Matthew Mullenweg will be speaking at the Elite Retreat Internet marketing conference (http://www.EliteRetreat.info) this coming April 3 and 4 in San Francisco. Matthew Mullenweg is co-creator of WordPress, blogging software which is used by millions of users worldwide. WordPress takes on more significance at this time as iFOCOS released its study that more people in the U.S. are now getting their news from the Internet than from traditional media. Askimet, one of Automattic's products, is added on to WordPress by many webmasters to block the spam that can be a nuisance to those who administer blogs or run sites that use WordPress.

When the head of Google's search spam team, Matt Cutts, was asked about WordPress and Matthew Mullenweg, he said, "Matt (Mullenweg) is well-known, and deservedly so, because of his fantastic work with products like WordPress and Akismet. WordPress is one of the most popular blogging packages in the world, and it offers tons of flexibility. I think Matt's character is reflected in his software, which is helpful, friendly, and open."
