ReconnectHere.com has launched a new service that aims to reunite former classmates, co-workers, and childhood friends. While other such sites charge for their services, usually on a monthly basis, the ReconnectHere.com site is completely free. Providing this type of service without a charge makes it possible for a larger number of people to reconnect through the Internet.

"Finding classmates or even looking for information on a high school reunion is a wonderful idea, perfectly suited for the internet. Visitors register by supplying their name, high school graduation year and the school from which they graduated. Once they have completed the registration process, they can find classmates and contact them by using the site's message service. Users are able to send up to 10 messages back and forth without needing to reveal their personal e-mail address.

The service is not limited to finding high school classmates. ReconnectHere.com's database contains virtually all public and private schools in the United States and Canada from kindergarten through college.

In addition, it allows users, through its Google Earth integration, to locate old friends from any place they've been. They can use this feature to locate former neighbors, workmates, church members, and even folks they met on vacation.

"We've created a safe and easy way to use the online environment to help friends to reconnect," adds Chaney. "Without having to jump through hoops or give up credit card information, people can actually enjoy locating old friends."
