Fiber Solutions, Inc a leading supplier of fiber optic tools and supplies is proud to announce the addition of the EXFO FIP-400 Analog/Digital Inspection probe to their line of products. The FIP-400 is a revolutionary tool that allows for inspection, and analysis of fiber end faces both in patch cable, and bulkhead applications.



The FIP-400 can either be used in conjunction with a USB converter or plugged directly into a computer for data storage, or it can be used with a FIP-400 Display for field inspection with no need for a digital device. Either way the FIP-400 provides superior optics for a bright and clear image of the fiber face. The contrast on the FIP-400 Display is significant in that it allows the user to change the contrast to allow the tool to be used to define both scratches and particulates on the fiber face.



The need to evaluate the cleanliness of fiber optic connector end faces is becoming increasingly necessary particularly in DWDM, Gigabit Ethernet, and High Speed OC-192 Telecommunications networks. Fiber plant that has been operating for years at slower speeds will often not function properly when trying to pass 10 & 40 GB speeds.
