Hampton Island Preserve Ronald S. Leventhal and Family Support APD...

Hampton Island Preserve (www.hamptonisland.com), a private retreat located off the coast of Georgia, and Ronald S. Leventhal, the preserve's developer and managing member, supported the Atlanta Police Department (APD) and Atlanta Police Foundation recently by being a sponsor and co-chair, respectively, of the third-annual Atlanta Policeman's Ball, held at the Georgia Aquarium on May 3, 2008.

The sold-out gala was hosted by Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin and Atlanta Police Chief Richard Pennington and chaired by Ronald S. Leventhal, his wife Dorothy, and Jeffrey Smith. Ronald S. Leventhal was honored with the privilege of introducing his long-time friend, Senator Johnny Isakson. Senator and Mrs. Isakson, along with Michael and Kristy Robison, served as distinguished honorary chairs.

"Hampton Island Preserve (http://www.hamptonisland.com/) was proud to show support for the brave men and women of the APD," said Ronald Leventhal. "These folks put their lives on the line every day to ensure all of our safety. It was a great honor for my wife and me to co-chair the Atlanta 2008 Policeman's Ball."

The Atlanta Police Foundation raises funds to support the following programs: a high-quality recruitment program to recruit the best and the brightest officers to the APD, a training program to ensure that the officers and command staff of the APD have the most advanced training possible to fight crime in Atlanta, a scholarship program to encourage officers to finish their academic degrees and seek higher levels of education, an affordable housing program so more officers can live inside the Atlanta city limits, a Crime Stoppers anonymous tip line that allows citizens to safely report crime tips, and the much-awaited return of the Mounted Horse Patrol.
