InformedTrades.com (http://www.informedtrades.com) has just announced two key initiatives in its mission to help traders learn: (1) InformedTrades Trading Widgets (http://www.informedtrades.com/trades.phppage=widgets), a collection of widgets enabling Internet publishers to put InformedTrades learning tools on their site; and (2) open content licensing, so that publishers can freely republish and remix the lessons created by the InformedTrades community.
InformedTrades Widgets can be found on the widgets page of InformedTrades.com (http://www.informedtrades.com/trades.phppage=widgets). Currently, InformedTrades provides Internet publishers with three
learning tools that they can put on their site. Specifically, those tools are as follows:
1. InformedTrades Search -- A search engine that searches only the best trading sites, handpicked by InformedTrades community host David Waring.
2. InformedTrades Free Video Courses -- InformedTrades courses, designed specifically to serve as a guide for novice traders, have been placed into a widget that publishers can put on
their site. The widget displays the content in full, thus giving publishers a tool that helps attract and retain visitors to their site, with no additional cost or ads inserted by
InformedTrades.
3. InformedTrades Video Channel -- A widget that allows visitors to watch all of the videos created by InformedTrades, with no advertising included in the videos.
Consistent with InformedTrades mission statement, the purpose behind creating InformedTrades Widgets is to help empower traders with knowledge. "By letting publishers take our educational
video content and tools and put it on their site, we help spread our knowledge and help traders help each other," said David Waring, founder and community host of InformedTrades.
In addition to creating a collection of widgets to help publishers spread InformedTrades learning content and tools, InformedTrades has also issued its content under a CC-BY license. This
means that publishers are free to take the content originally published on InformedTrades.com and remix, republish, or even sell it as they like; the only requirement is attribution via a
link back to InformedTrades. "We're trying to following in the footsteps of Wikipedia in terms of creating a free community resource, but we're looking to advance the model by focusing
more on community, online video, and creating content specifically to help people learn," said Waring. To this end, InformedTrades continues to create new video lessons on a daily basis,
and is currently developing a lesson roadmap designed to give traders a comprehensive education in trading, all completely free of charge.
