Kennedy Center International Committee on the Arts CoChairs Mr. A....

Among the Kennedy Center'ss (www.kennedy-center.org) most generous contributors, International Committee on the Arts (KCICA) Co-Chairs Mr. A. Huda Farouki, CEO of Nour USA, Ltd. (www.nourusa.com) and Mrs. Samia Farouki, President of HII-Finance Corporation (www.hiifinance.com) attended the Annual Meeting on December 6, 2008 in Washington, DC. Held during the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors weekend, the meeting is a forum to discuss both current and future international arts festivals, as well as outreach programs such as the international arts management training program.

KCICA supports the Kennedy Center'ss international programs which have allowed the Center to expand its network to over 60 countries. A highlight of the 2007-2008 season was the festival, Japan! culture + hyperculture, which was brought to the Kennedy Center through the efforts of the International Committee. Planning was discussed for the centerpiece of the 2008-2009 season, the festival Arabesque: Arts of the Arab World, in which art and culture from all 22 Arab League Nations will be featured.

We are tremendously excited that this festival is coming to the Kennedy Center, said Mr. A. Huda Farouki.

Dan Hagerty, Director of Individual Campaigns, thanked Samia and Huda Farouki for their significant feedback and support as major sponsors of the upcoming Arab Festival.

This year'ss festival will be unprecedented, said Mr. Farouki. The presentation will allow Arab life and culture to be seen in a whole new light.

The Committee holds two annual meetings, one in Washington during the Kennedy Center Honors weekend, and a second at an international destination. The first annual meeting took place this past Spring in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and future plans are under way for a meeting in Istanbul in June 2009.
