New and Improved HCCUA Membership Benefits Licensed Clinical Counseling



The Health Care Credit Union Association's ("HCCUA") mission is to enhance the physical, financial, and family health and well-being of its members by providing privileges, programs, educational information resources, valuable association membership benefits and outstanding member services and support.



In an effort to offer members the highest quality services, HCCUA has new and improved health and lifestyle membership benefits. Licensed Clinical Counseling (http://www.hccua.org), provided by LifeEvents, provides members and their families with free access to behavioral health experts anytime to give members help on the phone for any problems or stresses that may occur. Licensed, degreed clinical staff answers every call, and all services are handled with complete confidentiality. Each covered individual and eligible family member is entitled to unlimited telephonic counseling by phone per episode. Licensed counselors are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year via a dedicated toll free number. In addition, a bilingual staff and affiliates, as well as an online translation service for over 140 languages are available for non-English speaking HCCUA members.



Licensed counselors work with members to help with issues such as marriage, children, childcare, eldercare, parenting, alcohol and drug abuse, legal and financial difficulties, and other emotional and personal challenges or stresses. Counselors assist members every step of the way from conducting an initial assessment to determining a member's needs and related resources. If necessary, the counselor will even schedule an appointment for in-person assessments with a local Provider and involve a dependant care coordinator or legal or financial professional to assist in securing resources and arranging referrals. In case of an emergency situation, counselors can directly refer a member to a community agency or local hospital. The counselor will even conduct follow-ups with both a local provider to coordinate recommendations and the member to ensure quality and satisfaction of services. Confidentially is ensured throughout the entire process.
