Search Engines Failing Local Businesses LocalSitesFor.com Launches...

Though several major search engines have recently attempted to facilitate the ease with which consumers can find local business online, to date those efforts have fallen short of the mark. This is creating an opportunity for other companies to fill this niche.

Many companies are already competing in this market, and some of them, like Verizon'ss Superpages.com CitySearch.Com and DexOnline.com have been trying to fill this niche for several years. In spite of this, there appears to be a continuous flow of new companies throwing their hats in to this areana. The reason According to a recent study by ComScore sixty-three percent of Internet users in the United States performed a local search of some type in July of 2006. That means that this market is approximately 109 million strong.

One entrepreneur who has been keeping his eye on this trend for some time is Kelly Hodsdon owner of LocalSitesFor.com who said I'sve seen to many of these businesses rushing to get their sites online with ill thought out strategies. He went on to say In the end their rush serves neither them nor their potential clients.

LocalSitesFor.com and its sister site LocalSitesFor.org currently look like nothing more than one page sign up forms.

Behind the scenes it'ss a hub of activity said Hodsdon. We'sve been planning, strategizing and getting ready to match local business with local searchers for the past ten months.

LocalSitesFor.com will launch in late October but businesses interested in this service can sign up now for notification at http://www.localsitesfor.com or http://www.localsitesfor.org
