Toastmasters Week Declared by Governor Sonny Perdue for May 814 2005



May 13, 2005 -- In an effort to inform the public of the importance of public speaking skills, Georgia Governor, Sonny Perdue declares May 8-14,2005 as Toastmasters Week in Georgia. Toastmasters Week is proclaimed in an effort to inform the public of the importance of public speaking and the benefits of improving speaking skills.



The fear of public speaking is one of people's biggest fears. In today's job market, companies seek employees who possess good communications skills. For over 80 years, Toastmasters International has worked to help thousands overcome the fear of public speaking thus enabling these people to achieve their career and personal goals.



Toastmasters Week in Georgia culminates with the District 14 Spring Conference to be held on May 13-15 at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta Perimeter, NW in Atlanta. The conference features speakers from the International organization, speech contests, and the presentation of the Communication and Leadership award to local entrepeneur and motivational speaker, James Ziegler.



Toastmasters is a worldwide, nonprofit organization teaching skills in public speaking and leadership.
