Due to the nature of this film, it was extremely important to Furqaan Clover (CEO of Furqaan Films) to include real-life radio personalities and deejays in this film about a determined female who rises to the top of the radio world. As a result, personalities including Spank of Hartford's8217;s Power 104, Jeannie Jones of Washington, DC's8217;s WKYS and Armand of Los Angeles's8217; 100.3 The Beat, and a few others will add that personal touch both Furqaan and Wendy intend for the viewers to appreciate.
One of the main casting goals of Furqaan and Wendy was to make sure the average person with above average acting talent living in a below average film production city could have an equal shot at being in this film. As a result, this multi-city casting effort found Alicia Graves (will play Wendy as a teenager), Linnet Carty (will play Wendy's8217;s grandmother) and Ruby Thomas (will play Wendy's8217;s sister) all from Hartford, CT, Michael O's8217;Neal from Washington, DC (will play Wendy's8217;s younger brother), from Washington DC and Rahman Johnson (will play Wendy's8217;s father) from Jacksonville, FL. Additional principal roles were offered to actors in Memphis, TN, Charlotte, NC, and Philadelphia, PA.
While the excitement for this film grows daily, especially for Wendy's8217;s loyal listeners, the buzz around the soundtrack for this film is spreading like wild flowers to areas where Wendy is not even syndicated. The music director for the film is Dre Knight of The Narcotics. Dre along with manager Rick Brown both share the same comments that this soundtrack will be able to be placed in the 's8220;classic's8221; category. Filming is set to begin mid October in New York, NY.
