Its Digital Film De Niro and De Niro at the Lisbon Village Festival in June



In addition to the film competition, the Lisbon Village Festival includes a focus on art and music. The art portion, Village Art, includes the expressionist paintings of Robert de Niro, Sr., who was also a sculptor, poet and father of the famous actor, Robert de Niro, Jr. The actor, whose father died in 1993, will take part in the festival'ss opening. Another art exhibit will feature the work of artists around the world, showing how media has influenced their work. Village Art will also have an emphasis on how Portugal'ss art schools have contributed to the development of the creative process, with a showing of graduate student works.

Throughout the festival, the Village Lounge will be a place for visitors to gather, relax and listen to international music spun by DJs and VJs at Cinema São Jorge.

A hallmark of the Lisbon Village Festival is its inclusion of just digital filmmaking, a sign of how prevalent digital technology is becoming in the movie-making industry. Short films in digital, submitted by film students, will also be shown in competition.
