Corey Giann Antonios Short Film Ash Wednesday Selected for the 2005 Thunderbird International Film Festival



May 7, 2005 -- The 2005 Thunderbird International Film Festival has announced "Ash Wednesday" as an official selection. "Ash Wednesday" tells the tale of a family as they try to cope with the passing of thier patriarch by spreading his ashes on his favorite golf course.

"Ash Wednesday" will screen as part of a short film program at 2pm on Thursday June 2, 2005. The festival runs from June 1-5.

"Ash Wednesday" was selected as a WINNER in the short film category of the Key West IndieFest earlier this year. The version that will be seen at Thunderbird 2005 is the 23 minute "director's cut." A shorter 18 minute 40 second version was recently released and will be the only version available after the "director's cut" has finished its short festival run.

Clara Herrin, Harry Schoolitz, Laura Durant, Bisk Consoli, and Sherief Ayoub star, with special vocal performances by legendary sportscasters Joe Buck and Tim McCarver. "Ash Wednesday" is directed by Corey Giann Antonio and produced by Karen Jewell Productions in association with Black Tiburon Films. Danielle Silmon photographed and Brice Myracle provided the original score.

Black Tiburon Films other 2005 release, "Friends Like These" is also touring festivals and was most recently featured at the 2005 Santa Cruz Film Festival on May 5.

Corey Giann Antonio is currently in pre-production for a short film which he will direct called ""Bus Stop, which will shoot in Las Vegas and Los Angeles in late May 2005. "Bus Stop" will be produced by writer and star Nina Pukonen. Danielle Silmon will again photograph.
