The Perfect Stranger Comes Out of the Gate

May 10, 2005 -- Kelly's Filmworks and City on a Hill Productions, both based in Louisville, Kentucky, announce the introduction of their first independent feature film, "The Perfect Stranger".

With a budget under $1M, 'The Perfect Stranger' is the first joint project of the two companies, both of which have previously dealt with short-format material.

The original screenplay is based on the novel, "Dinner With a Perfect Stranger" by David Gregory.

Gregory self-published the novel 2 years ago; a recent book deal signed with Random House will result in a nationwide re-release in July 2005.
Producers of "The Perfect Stranger" are hoping to coincide the film's release with that of the novel.

The film, made up of a largely unknown cast, tells the story of a troubled attorney (NY stage actress Pamela Brumley) who receives a dinner invitation from a mysterious man who claims that he is Jesus of Nazareth (Jefferson Moore).

The movie was directed by Shane Sooter and Jefferson Moore. An informative website has been set up at www.perfectstrangermovie.com.

Recently, strong showings in the faith/family genre (The Passion of the Christ, Woman Thou Art Loosed, Flywheel) indicate that a large viewing audience exists for this type of subject matter. Test screenings of 'The Perfect Stranger' held in mid-April/early May produced overwhelmingly positive responses from audiences, made up of both Christians and Non-Christians.

Kelly's Filmworks is currently working to secure distribution for the picture.
