Colorado Actor Takes a Bite Out of Shoreline

Trygve Lode, Colorado actor, bodybuilder, stunt performer, and entrepreneur, takes on new role for The Shadow Walkers, a "creature feature" being produced by Mostly Films, LLC, in conjunction with Shoreline Entertainment. Best known locally for his role as the evil scientist, Therion, in Inferno Film Production's Dragon and the Hawk, Trygve also has played a number of other roles for films and live action performances, including that of a Viking chieftain for the Smithsonian's travelling Viking exhibit.

In The Shadow Walkers, Trygve takes on the role of the "experimentee" who becomes a monster rather than the scientist as he was in Dragon and the Hawk. "One of the biggest difference between being the experimentee and the experimentor," says Trygve, "Is how long you spend in the makeup chair. The day usually starts before dawn. It takes three people four hours to apply the makeup."

The prosthetic makeup makes doing stunts more challenging, often requiring on-set repairs of masks and nails by the makeup team. But makeup alone does not a monster make. Trygve uses his six foot three height and imposing build to bring the creature to life even for the other actors.

"The fact is that he's so physically dominant over me that it helps me to feel that way," said Jason Coviello, who plays the chief protagonist in The Shadow Walkers. "I can push on him hard and he can counter that. That makes me feel like I'm losing this fight for real. He was right there in my face, giving me that growl. It just put me into more of a genuine reaction. When he did that I had a natural reaction - my head went back and he came at me."

But Trygve is going beyond just using his physical size and strength to intimidate the audience and fellow actors. Following in the footsteps of Christopher Lee's roles in "Curse of Frankenstein" and "The Mummy," Trygve is trying to breath some humanity into a monster bent on murder and mayhem. Using his blue eyes and body language he manages to convey the monster's sense of betrayal when attacked by one he trusted.

The Shadow Walkers, which began filming in June in Denver is an independent production being spearheaded by executive producer David A. Marchiori of Mostly Films, LLC, and directed by Mark Steven Grove. Shoreline Entertainment has signed on as a distributor. "It's almost unheard of in this business especially in this state in Colorado to be moving forward with a first time feature film and to have one of Hollywood's real top notch up and coming distributors coming to sign on a pre-production distribution deal," said David A. Marchiori.

Trygve Lode, who is the majority owner of Inferno Film Productions, is also co-owner of Asgard Entertainment with Mark Steven Grove. Members of the Asgard Entertainment stunt team will fill out the remaining monster roles which promises to make for some exciting action.

Trygve also owns Valkyrie Illumination, LLC, which rents movie equipment, and Bifrost Distribution, LLC, a wholesale distributor of movies, CDs and books, and is part owner of Warrior Quest International, LLC, and Lode Data Corporation. Trygve is also President of the non-profit ISP, Nyx Net.
