During a recent interview with Dr. Maxine Thompson on "On the Same Page," Milner discussed her desire to bring this series of three books to television in 2008. In a follow-up interview
Milner revealed that she was looking for investors for a 2007 film. When asked why the change to the big screen she replied. "Hollywood is an industry of tokenism one ethnic per movie.
Any movie that crosses racial or economic barriers is a unique situation, not the mainstream. This is not a story of the struggle of one child. It represents the struggle of all children,
their pain and their victories. It is reality not fiction. There is a director that wants not only to entertain but break down the barriers that separate us,and tackle real issues.
My prayer is to find investors willing to finance this endeavor. All children deserve to have their stories told."
"Children of Plains Estates" is a book of inclusiveness. It crosses racial and economic lines of division. Its goal is to bring light to the struggles and victories of children. The goal
of the author is to break down the barriers that separate us by forcing the reader to confront their own stereotypes and bigotries. Aids, racism, child molestation, drugs, alcoholism,
domestic violence, are not issues that happen to other people. They are issues that affect all of us. The purpose of this book is to begin the dialogue in order to confront the
issues.
No other novel has its pulse on the heartbeat of America.
